Founded over a decade ago in Twenty-Twelve, Madmen Barbershop was built not just as a Barbershop but as a reprieve for Gentlemen of all ages throughout Long Island.
Twenty-Twelve was a much different time than the days in which we live now. Social Media was still much in its infancy, most all of us carried a Blackberry & Barbershops quite frankly had little to no style or aesthetic appeal. The iconic decor of MadMen Barbershop challenged & then forever changed the industry of Men’s Hair here on Long Island, as well as through out the United States.
We opened our Barbershop with Master Barbers specializing in Traditional Haircuts, Hot Towel Shaves & Beard Trims. Setting us apart from any other Barbershop on Long Island at the time, we added a Bespoke (custom-made) Suit Dept, as well as mahogany Pool Table (free to use while you waited), an antique Humidor which held some of the world’s finest Cigars & complimentary Espresso.
It would be this old-world vintage collaboration that would immediately ignite our new business & eventually inspire a drove of imitation shops to open “clone operations” —Both only a minutes drive away from our very doors & throughout the world.
It is our strong belief, both then & now that you deserve a unique environment that compliments your lifestyle. An escape from the mundane. You deserve only the most experienced accumulation of Barbers to choose from, using only the most advanced & modern equipment to carry out your very traditional service.
Through-out our years of service to LI, we have had the pleasure of cutting the likes of both Hip-Hop Artists & Congressman, but our main goal is to be an everlasting fixture within our community. We have had the privilege of tending to your Grandfathers & had the intimacy of seeing sons grow into becoming fathers.

ACCEPT NO IMITATIONS
Since opening our doors over a decade ago, our innovative spirit & roguish old-world charm has been blatantly copied throughout Long Island & frankly throughout the world. A sprinkle of “MadMen Coding”, our vintage inspired “DNA” is found throughout the industry. Some subtle .. others not so. There are currently “unauthorized” MadMen Barbershops using our name & aura found in France, Columbia, Canada, Asia & Chicago.
You can find our espresso bar copied right down to the same cups scattered throughout Merrick Road. The work aprons & boxing gloves we had to have Custom Made in 2012 are now found cheaply embroidered with Barbershop names in Seaford that sound eerily familiar. Our Barbers have been poached by other shops in Wantagh, Massapequa & Roslyn, all of them wishing the same success & our Pomade has been duplicated with the offenders changing only the scent. Our antique tufted Barber Chairs replicated down to the button in Bayshore & our infamous motorcycle, pool table & gold cash register are ALL on full display in close by Bellmore. Most recently we’ve noticed a Sayville shop stole our Trademark Tan/Brown Barber Capes, a stripe that has been come synonymous with the MadMen Brand.
When you Walk-In to any Barbershop on Long Island please note that it was MadMen who was their inspiration. It was we who ultimately escalated their style profile & point of view. In-spite of these many examples of unoriginality, we remain undeterred. We thrive on the flattery these shops constantly bestow on us & we strive every year to keep improving both our quality of craftsmanship & aesthetic. We are proud to know that whether or not you’ve ever sat in one of our chairs…

WALK-INS
MadMen follows a Traditional & Historically Standard entry experience by utilizing an informal “Walk-In” method of First-Come-First-Served. After almost 15 years of service to the Long Island Community, we have concluded that any Wait-List or Appointment based structure would only serve to add to the cost of your Haircut Service. We have more than enough Barbers present to ensure everyone is waiting only 15-20 minutes even in the busiest of seasons. Stop in, pour yourself an espresso & take in the sights of our many antiques.

We are also extremely humbled to be Awarded HomeTown Hero In Crisis in 2020 for our 100,00 mask donations to Law Enforcement, Hospitals & the Long Island Community in general, throughout the COVID-19 Emergency Pandemic.

In today’s internet driven world, negative reviews on Google & Yelp are a reality for any business. In our case, while we do try to remain perfect for our clientele, there are many 1 Star Reviews online that after years are unable to be erased — Even years after a Barber departs our Shop. They criticize our Master Barber’s heritage, ridicule them for not speaking English as their first language, complain about us closing up , at our actual closing time & even losing Stars for wishing that we accepted appointments.
Fortunately, all of the negative reviews we have received over the past 13 years combined, whether real or (more likely fake), don’t even make up one busy day at our shops. If we were truly as horrid as some of our competitors suggest we would simply be out of business a very long time ago.
